organic fruitsOrganic farming is growing plants and raising animals without chemicals made in factories. It's really the way farmers have always grown food - up until the last 60 years or so in the richer countries. Organic farming works with nature, not against it. It is sustainable. That means people can carry on growing organic food for ever, without need for oil and chemicals. Modern 'industrial' farming depends on oil for both its machines and for its chemical fertilisers and poisons against pests and unwanted plants (weeds). And I'm sure you know that using oil adds to the 'greenhouse effect' (see my Guide on Global Warming) and general pollution (see my Guide on Pollution too).
